Citizenship Programme

We know the importance of everyone taking responsibility for and giving back to their communities. Our Sixth Form is a place that encourages all students to do just this – we have a rich and varied Citizenship programme, where all students are given the opportunity to enrich the whole school community. Some work with younger students who might struggle with reading or Mathematics and give them the support they need to develop, along with being a fantastic role model for those younger students. Others will help out in others ways, including:

  • Mentoring lower school students
  • Fundraising
  • In-lesson support for younger students
  • Organising school competitions and events
  • Community outreach work
  • Charitable activities in the community
  • Volunteering in primary schools
  • Supporting extra-curricular clubs and activities
  • Supporting school events, such as Open Evenings and Productions
  • Delivering lower school assemblies
  • Food back collections

Student quotes:

“The Citizenship Programme has opened my eyes to what it means to be part of a community”

“I feel like the Citizenship opportunities have helped me become a kinder person, but also given me so much to put into my UCAS personal statement!”
