In March a group of 15 Year Nine boys visited the Daresbury Laboratory Scientific Establishment. This facility is best known for the work done in the Nuclear Physics field however many other sorts of Scientific research are also carried out there.

The boys from Year Nine took part in a circus of activities involving cutting edge chemistry. These included making a plastic that is remoldable at 70 degrees C, making bath bombs, how Vauxhall paint new cars at Ellesmere Port and the global significance of BASF as a Chemical Company.

The students enjoyed the day and returned to school with a bag of goodies form the industrial companies who had sponsored the event.
