On Tuesday, November 27th, a company called “Zoolab” visited our school. They shared information about many elements of the Key Stage 3 Science National Curriculum including habitats, predator-prey relationships, food chains, feeding relationships and sustainable development.
Year 7 pupils experienced the “Rainforest Roadshow”. This workshop took students through the many layers of a tropical rainforest, from the dark forest floor to the dizzy heights of the canopy. With the help of some real rainforest animals, students explored predator-prey relationships and food webs. The students discovered how a variety of creatures including tree frogs, giant snails, screaming cockroaches , centipedes, tarantulas and corn snakes adapt to fit their surroundings and what it means for a species to be endangered.
