At St. Margaret’s we care greatly about helping students to fulfil their potential as individuals as well as academics. This drives our commitment to providing the highest standards of pastoral care, underpinned by our Christian values of Compassion, Resilience and Respect.
From the moment a student is allocated a place at St Margaret’s in year 6, we ensure that the highest level of support is received. Our transition program consists of an extensive schedule, including school visits and parent meetings along with enhanced transition and summer school for our more vulnerable new starters.
Each student at St Margaret’s is supported daily by their form tutor. Each year group is then allocated a Pastoral Leader who is available to students who require further help. Students can also gain individual support from our designated student services department, pastoral manager, counsellors and any of their class teachers.
To further our support, we regularly work with the following external agencies, who provide services within our school: YPAS, Everton in the Community, Merseyside Police, Education Welfare Service and Liverpool Children’s Services. We are committed to working with any services that may benefit the bespoke needs of the students in our care.
We pride ourselves in having systems and structures which promote positive behaviour in our classrooms and around the wider community. Every student at St Margaret’s has the right to learn and develop in an environment in which they feel safe and happy.
