A-LEVEL RESULTS DAY 2025/26

Students at St Margaret’s Church of England Sixth Form are celebrating today [Thursday, 13 August] after receiving impressive A-level and BTEC results.

Part of St Margaret’s Church of England Academy, within All Saints Multi Academy Trust, the co-educational sixth form has continued to deliver strong outcomes across both A-level and vocational courses, reflecting the commitment and ambition of its students.

This year, almost 40 per cent of students achieved A* to B grades, or their equivalent, in A-level and tech level qualifications.

There were particularly strong results in A-level biology, chemistry and physics, where 50 per cent of grades were at A* to B. Together, the three subjects accounted for two-thirds of all A* grades achieved across the sixth form.

Meanwhile, 100 per cent of students secured grades from Distinction* to Merit in the double awards engineering qualification.

The sixth form also saw particularly pleasing progress for students with additional educational needs, English as an additional language and in receipt of bursary funding. A number of Year 13 students whose progress was most impressive came from this group, a testament to their hard work over the two years at sixth form and the level of support they have received during their time.

Students will now take the next steps to a wide range of destinations, including leading universities, apprenticeships and careers across a variety of sectors.

Among this year’s successes were Oliver Dadswell, who secured three A*s in biology, chemistry and mathematics. Oliver is going to study actuarial science with maths at the University of Manchester.

Oliver said: “The teachers have been amazing and helped me through my journey here. Nothing has been too much trouble for them, and I’m delighted that my hard work has paid off.”

James Azurdua-Hughes secured an A* in English literature and Bs in art and history, and will be heading to the University of Bristol to read English literature.

James commented: “I really enjoyed my time at St Margaret’s, learning new things. I feel really well prepared for my next steps.”

Fellow student, Matthew Jones, received two As in mathematics and chemistry and a B in biology. He is excited to be studying medicine at Edge Hill University.

Matthew said: “I’m very happy to get on to the course that I’ve been working so hard for. My seven years at this school have been amazing, and the staff have helped so much.”

Lawand Aziz achieved two A*s in biology and chemistry and an A in psychology. Lawand is preparing to study pharmacy at the University of Liverpool.

He commented: “I’m really excited to see what’s in store for me over the next four years. I’ve enjoyed my time at St Margaret’s, and I wouldn’t have got my grades without the teachers.”

St Margaret’s Church of England Sixth Form welcomes students from across south Liverpool, offering a supportive environment where young people are encouraged to develop their talents, grow in confidence and achieve their goals. Its Christian ethos is rooted in the belief that ‘All things are possible for one who believes’ (Mark 9:23).

Dr Dan Silverstone, director of sixth form, said: “It’s been fantastic to see our students collect the results they have worked so hard for. They’ve embraced every opportunity during their time in the sixth form, and it’s been a pleasure to watch them grow in confidence and develop their ambitions. We wish them every success, whatever path they choose next.”

Mr Adam Robinson, headteacher of St Margaret’s Church of England Academy, added: “Today is about recognising everything our students have achieved during their time at St Margaret’s. We are incredibly proud of the young people they have become and grateful to our staff and families for the encouragement and support they have given along the way. We wish every student the very best for the future.”

St Margaret’s Church of England Sixth Form will be enrolling students on GCSE results day [Thursday, 20 August] next week at The Academy of St Nicholas. Any prospective students should visit the St Margaret’s team at the St Nicholas site in Garston.

An open evening will take place on Tuesday, 3 November, from 5pm to 7pm, giving prospective students for 2027 the chance to meet staff, explore facilities, and find out more about life at the sixth form.
