Old Boys Celebrate with Awards Night

The Essemmay Association and St Margaret’s Old Boys Football Club came together for a night of celebration at the Riversdale Police Club on Friday 25th May 2012; as the successes of the Old Boys team were rewarded.

Former students of the older generation; Ron Sharratt, Eric Butter, Arthur Menlove and Don Staig joined the more recent leavers at the End of Season Awards Presentation.

The achievements of the players and management were most definitely worthy of recognition following the club’s first season; and each player was awarded a medal for being a part of the club in addition to the individual award winners:

Manager’s Player of the Year

  • 1st Place: Chris McGrail
  • 2nd Place: Alex Martin
  • 3rd Place: James Bradley

Players’ Player of the Year

  • 1st Place: Alex Martin
  • 2nd Place: Chris McGrail
  • 3rd Place: James Bradley

Most Improved Player

  • John Harvey

Clubman of the Year

  • Matthew Forster

Hosted by Peter Oliver, and ably assisted by the Association & Football Club Committee throughout, the night was a great triumph and one that the Association hope to use as the first of many events over the coming months and years.

Well done to all of the Players and Management Team of the Club for what has been a tremendously successful first season. A 3rd Place league finish is something the club can be very proud of.

Keep up to date with the club:
