Shoebox Appeal

Once again St. Margaret's is taking part in Operation Christmas Child. Back in 1990, Dave Cooke, a father of four from Wrexham, saw abandoned children in Romanian orphanages on TV. He was so moved by the plight of these children that, together with some friends, he filled a truck with toys and drove it to Romania.

That was the start of an amazing venture which saw over one million shoeboxes being sent all over the world from the UK last year. Countries as far away as Azerbaijan, Haiti, Kenya and Mozambique have received our shoeboxes up to now. Our boxes have now all been collected in by Year 11 prefects and will soon be on their way to make Christmas a very special time for children who have so little.

Thank you for you generosity, St. Margaret's.
