On Thursday June 25th 2012 St. Margaret’s was visited by some strange creatures! The zoologist Phil Dowset brought along his “Zoofari” to our Sports Hall for a one-hour interactive teaching session.
This was an initiative organized by our Science Department and incorporated the English and Lifelong Learning Departments in a cross-curricular exercise.
As part of their Key Stage 3 work, all of Year 8 enjoyed meeting, among other creatures, a Meerkat, a Chilean Rose Tarantula, a skunk, a giant tortoise, a Burmese Python, and a Blue-Tongued Skunk!
The boys were very brave and were allowed to touch most of the animals, and even some members of staff joined in! It was a really fun day thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Thank you Miss Clarkson.
