Ceilidh

The Ceilidh Evening that was held on 13th March in school was a huge success and raised over £1000. All who attended enjoyed top-quality entertainment from the performers.  A highlight of the evening was the dancing which was led by the King Academy of Irish Dancing, who not only encouraged visitors of all ages onto the dance floor, but also wowed us with some amazing demonstrations. Our student musicians proved that practice pays off, playing extremely well and contributing to the atmosphere and our comperes were excellent announcers and ensured that we all knew what was happening next.

All of this took place within an “Irish themed environment”, with visitors tucking into delicious Irish stew and refreshment, provided by St Margaret’s Catering Services and generously sponsored by Jackson and Canter Solicitors. The tables look lovely, with the magnificent floral centrepieces donated by Blooms Florist and the balloons from Academy Balloons. Everyone enjoyed the evening and gave generously to support the raffle,

Each year the Parents’ Association raises funds for activities across school that fall outside the remit of usual school funding. They are currently raising money towards the Green Car project for STEM (Science Technology, Engineering and Maths) students and to give Year 11 a good send off in May. The funds from this evening will contribute towards these and other PA projects.

Once again, a huge thank you for your support for the school
