National School Sports Week

The week beginning Monday 23rd June saw National School Sport Week, an opportunity for all pupils to get more involved in PE and school sport.

Here at St Margaret’s, we’ve offered a number of additional activities such as Fencing, Karate, Table Tennis, Tennis, Handball, Dance, Lacrosse and Ultimate Frisbee —many of our students enjoyed trying something new! This week has also seen the return of the Before School Breakfast Sports Clubs to help engage more students in sports and physical activity.

The week got off to a flying start, as on Monday when we welcomed Ex-Olympic Judo Athlete Michelle Vidler to school. She talked to pupils about her journey to becoming an Olympic Athlete and then worked with a group of students to help improve their self-esteem and confidence through sport by doing different team building activities and a taster session in Judo. This group will continue working together until the end of term, taking part in a number of different activities.
